Don't Tell The Bride
n the lates series of Don't Tell the Bride, due to be shown early Autumn on BBC3.I was lucky enough to meet James and Mercy and help them with their special Day.
James chose one on Honey V's popular hair bands with a gorgeous handmade silk flower with diamante and Swarovski crystals, but even this was out shone by Mercy's model looks.
Congrats to you both !!!
After a trip to Harrogate for the Bridal Fayre, I am really inspired to design some unusual hair pieces rather than just tiaras. Lace will be playing a large part, as Vintage is still very popular, but also intricate beadwork and statement pieces make an appearence.
Natures Inspiration
This time of year it is difficult to think of lovely summer weddings, but there are some great shapes in nature that are really inspiring. Shapes, colours and textures will certainly be making an appearance in new designs. Frost is also a fantastic feature for that added sparkle.
Curvy Brides Update
Now listed on the site is the Ava necklace. This delicate necklace features a 27" chain with beautiful swarovski crystals and freshwater pearls. Due to the longer chain (not just an extender) it is perfect for a fuller shape, while retaining a delicate feel.
Hall Place Wedding Exhibition
The 25th of October was a beautiful sunny day, just perfect for the marquee in the grounds of Hall Place Bexley Village. There was a great response from all the happy brides that attended, and I had some really positive comments about my jewellery. A big thankyou to all who attended, and to Sharon who introduced Gillian Roberts and Honey V.
Silversmith's Course
I have made tiaras for many years using wire work as the base, but have decided to broaden my horizons, and range by taking a silversmiths course. I started last night, and am really excited at the techniques I can introduce, e.g. stone setting, soldering and casting. I will be introducing more pieces as I go along.
Curvy Brides
Curvy Brides
After a great visit to see the new styles at the Harrogate show, Gillian Roberts has taken on a new label Sonsie, that is designed for the curvy bride. The styles are extremely flattering for brides over a size 20, and I can't wait to start designing some fabulous accessories to compliment them.
A recent request for a statement necklace from a curvy bride has got me thinking about a range to flatter the fuller figure, with not just an extra long extender chain, but made in proportion. This will be listed shortly, so keep checking out the website.
Bridal Fairs
Harrogate is gearing up to hosting the largest UK trade Bridal Fair in September, the huge range of wedding dresses will certainly inspire me for the new seasons accessories, can't wait to see what is going to be big in 2010!
